The Worldstar competition is the main event of the World Packaging Organization (WPO). The Worldstar Awards are a reflection of the continuous advance in the packaging design sector and serve as an establishment of international quality and excellence standards.
Thus, they gather packaging solutions already awarded in national competitions and the experts compare them with designs from around the world and decide which is the best due to its originality and more adequate execution of its function. It is expected that the professionals of the sector learn from the awarded products.
This year Miralles has been awarded with three Liderpack awards, and one of them has been chosen to win a Worldstar Award because it has won one of the Liderpack Awards in the category Best in Show. This pack contains a bottle of champagne that when opened it becomes an ice bucket, commissioned by the Mumm brand. The packaging has the characteristics of being resistant to water and ice, without neglecting the elegance and that it should have a curved shape. Our team worked to achieve a moisture-resistant metal finishing, considering creating a carton with folds that allows the packaging to be folded in a box that becomes an ice bucket. All this with the most possible simplicity, without a great number of steps to follow and that did not include any operation of cut.
